| Our Home
We have the joy of living in a 1933 Spanish Revival House in a Mediterranean style garden. Designed by Eureka architect Oliver Newton Ackerman and built by Dolindo and Eufemia Massei, the house is an example of the romantic Spanish style prevalent in the 1920s and early 1930s. The house also displays some Art Deco qualities popular at that time.
Other aspects are hand-hewn redwood beams in the living room, original fireplace, and bath with terrazzo floor and original jade-colored Crane fixtures.
We received a 2004 Keep Eureka Beautiful Award of Merit for the garden and restoration work, and our home was one of six historic homes open for the Eureka Heritage Society 2004 Home Tour.
